Treatment after an ADHD diagnosis
A diagnosis is the starting point, not the finish line. Your psychiatrist works with you on a plan that may include:
- Medication management with stimulant or non-stimulant options and scheduled follow-ups to fine-tune treatment.
- Care for conditions that often occur alongside ADHD, like anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
- Everyday strategies for planning, prioritizing, and staying on track.
- Guidance for parents on school supports, such as a 504 plan.
If medication is appropriate, your psychiatrist will explain prescribing and follow-up requirements. Federal and state rules for prescribing some ADHD medications through telehealth can change, and DaniCare follows current requirements.
A psychiatrist with New Jersey roots
DaniCare's care is led by Dr. Dolani Ajanaku, M.D. Dr. Ajanaku earned both a B.A. in Biological Sciences and an M.D. at Rutgers University, then completed general psychiatry residency training at USF/Stony Brook University and advanced training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
